How much does TutorLab cost?
Three plans. Free is £0: every core tool (calendar, booking link, invoices, payments, your dashboard and profile) for unlimited students who pay through TutorLab and up to 3 you invoice yourself; families paying through TutorLab pay a small processing fee. TutorLab Pro is £29/month or £290/year (2 months free): unlimited students however they pay, business analytics, tax and HMRC export, and AI tools. Pro removes the processing fee on your families' payments. Agency is £249/month for 10 tutor seats, each with Pro's tools; on Agency your families pay a 3% processing fee (minimum 50p). Your profile, enquiries and replies to parents are free on every plan. Families we introduce pay one all-in price. You keep 100% of your rate. Organic directory results rank for parent fit and response readiness, never for plan. Pro has no contract: cancel whenever you like and you carry on free.
Is TutorLab free for parents?
Yes. Searching, browsing and messaging tutors costs you nothing, and you do not need an account to enquire. Lessons are one all-in price, shown on the tutor's profile before you book, so the price you see is the price you pay.
Does TutorLab hold my money?
No. Payments go to your own payout account and on to your bank. TutorLab never keeps your earnings.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your students' details and lesson notes stay private to your account and are never sold or shared. You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time.
Which exam boards does TutorLab support?
AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and Cambridge International. The AI tools use the board's own specification and command words.
How does the parent report actually work?
After a session, log it in TutorLab: what you covered, any notes. Then click 'Generate report'. The AI reads your notes and writes a warm, professional parent update in British English: what was covered, how the student did, what to work on next. You can edit it before sending.

Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro has no contract and no cancellation fee: cancel from the billing portal whenever you want and keep Pro until the end of the billing period. Your account then carries on free.
Will my price go up after I subscribe?
Your price only changes with 30 days' notice. Tutors who joined at launch still pay their original founding price today.
What happens to my business if TutorLab ever shuts down?
Very little, by design. Lesson money goes straight into your own bank account through your own payment account, never a TutorLab wallet, and your student records and invoices export on request. Every family you teach is your client, so your business survives any platform, including ours.
How is TutorLab different from tutoring software like TutorCruncher or TutorBird?
Tools like TutorCruncher and TutorBird are back-office software: they help you run students you already have, but bring you no new ones. Marketplaces and agencies bring students but take a commission on every lesson and keep the client. TutorLab does both: a Google-indexed profile that brings parents to you, plus scheduling, AI lesson notes, parent reports and invoicing, and you keep 100% of your rate on your own students; an own family paying through TutorLab adds no processing fee on Pro (5% on Free).
Do I have to spend hours entering data before I see any value?
No. Paste or upload your student list (TutorBird, Teachworks and TutorCruncher exports are pre-mapped) and you're set.
