Browse all tutorsMedicine preparation tutoring supports students applying to UK medical schools — covering UCAT preparation, BMAT preparation, personal statement support for medicine, interview coaching (MMI and panel format) and academic support in Biology and Chemistry at A-Level.
Medical school applications are among the most competitive in the UK — most successful applicants achieve A*AA at A-Level in science subjects and also need a strong UCAT score, a compelling personal statement and confident interview performance, all of which benefit from targeted preparation.
UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is a 2-hour computer-based test taken by most UK medical and dental school applicants. It tests five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning and Situational Judgement. It is taken in the summer before Year 13 applications. UCAT preparation typically starts in April or May of Year 12, with intensive practice across all five sections. A tutor can identify your weakest sections, teach section-specific strategies and run timed mock tests.
